"The nature of astrology is to be archetypally predictive, not concretely predictive."
~ Richard Tarnas New Moon in AriesApril 14, 2010![]() New Moon's are times of new beginnings, planting seeds and setting intentions. The New Moon in Aries is about fresh starts, turning over a new leaf and make the leap forward. Aries is the youngest of the signs and often expresses child-like qualities with playful innocence and no sense of consequences. Aries is the first of the dynamic fire signs (impulsive, assertive) and at times need to look before they leap. This is the New Moon to really attack and go after what you want. With the New Moon in Aries we can re-energize our relationship with our inner warrior. In mythology Aries was a dancer before he became a warrior and was tutored by the ancient phallic god Priapus. In tribal cultures, warriors are dancers. Ancient Celtic proverb says “ You don't give weapons to a man until you've taught him how to dance”. On April 4th a 7.2 earthquake hit Baja,California, and on April 6th another 7.2 earthquake rocks Sumatra that sets off major Tsunami warnings all just prior to Pluto going Stationary retrograde. Mercury turns retrograde on April 17th at 12 degrees of Taurus and goes direct in motion on May 11th. Important money matter need to be reviewed through strategic planning. Good time to reflect and realign our core values. Steady as she goes! Saturn slides back into Virgo on the 8th preparing for the fourth opposition to Uranus on the 26th in a series of five. Political polarization has become the most intense in decades. Extreme right wing militia groups have increased by 244% according to the latest government statistics. Talk of state's succession from the union continue from conservative talking heads. Several governors ask their attorney general to file a law suit against the federal governments health care reform plan claiming it's unconstitutional. The reality (Saturn) is they have no shot! You can smell the winds of change and civil unrest on the horizon. The Civil Rights movement along with Vietnam War protests are examples of the Uranus/Saturn opposition of the mid 60's and the call for change and reform. Chiron (wounded healer) enters Pisces on April 19th for the first time since 1960-69. This was the time of JFK and Camelot, and MLK I have a dream era. This was a time when music changed and transformed the world. The Beatles, Rolling Stones,Bob Dylan just to name a few. Chiron in Pisces also coincided with the Civil Rights and antiwar protests of the 60's. Back in 1963 Adlai Stevenson gave a speech in Dallas,Texas a month before the assassination of JFK extolling the virtues of joining the United Nations. There was a group of extreme conservative protesters who spit on him and one woman hit him over the head with her sign. They were all arrested. Adlai said I don't won't these people arrested, I just want them to go back to school. This serves as a most powerful metaphor for those who wish to engage in violence with their 'might makes right' attitude rather than engage in democratic civil discourse. Transiting Neptune exactly conjuncts the Moon in Aquarius in the Sibly chart. President Obama announces his plan for off shore oil drilling. Is this another broken promise or just a smoke screen ? The degree for the New Moon at 25 Aries reads from Zodiacal Symbology: An old man with a scythe cutting down a field of nettles. Denotes one who cuts his way through pricks, scratches and wounds. It is a symbol of Revealing. Sources:
