"The nature of astrology is to be archetypally predictive, not concretely predictive."

CURRENT MOON

New Moon in Aquarius

January 26, 2009

New Moons are times of new beginnings, planting seeds and of setting intentions. The annular Solar Eclipse will add extra charge of electricity with this New Moon. This is the best New Moon for breaking old habits and routines. If you feel as if you stuck in a rut with wheels spinning and gaining no traction, the New Moon in Aquarius will help to free you and guide you towards the open road to freedom, liberation and from old attachments from the past. The Aquarian vision is alive and well with the Sun / Moon / Jupiter / Chiron / North Node / and Neptune all in unifying Aquarius (Can’t we all just get along?)

This New Moon begins the Chinese New Year, the year of the Ox. This serves as a powerful metaphor for our times as the Ox is a symbol of perseverance, endurance and the need to conserve. The Moon symbolizes our emotions and personal needs. Aquarius tends to be more aloft and detached emotionally, focusing more on the needs of the group and community. Jupiter entered Aquarius on January 5th and conjuncts the New Moon Solar Eclipse. This implies that growth (Jupiter) isn’t just for you, it’s for everybody. Opportunity comes when you participate in something larger than yourself. Wisdom emerges when we wrap our lives around cooperation, altruistic and humanitarian values.

With Pluto, Mercury, and Mars in Capricorn (earth) this serves as an excellent anchor for the Aquarian idealism and vision. Both Capricorn and Aquarius are universal signs symbolizing the merging of earth and air. Spirits in the material world! While it’s Aquarius that has the vision and inspiration to start a program that wants to feed the hungry, it’s Capricorn that wants to build a center to feed the hungry.

On January 20th Barack Obama will become our 44th President of the United States. Looking at the Inauguration chart, which is the chart for the Obama administration, many astrologers have called for a change of time of the inauguration to allow the Moon to enter Sagittarius and avoid the “ Void of Course” Moon. Unfortunately, the noontime is mandated by the twentieth Amendment of the Constitution and would require an act of congress to change. The Solar Eclipse on the 26th just six days after the inauguration is significant. Solar Eclipses are almost always associated with Royalty, Kings, Queens, leaders, and those in powerful positions of authority. Watch for dramatic news in the next several weeks. The goods news is Obama picks up a triple conjunction between the Sun, Mercury and Jupiter all in Aquarius, and he is in his Jupiter return cycle. This does seem to suggest why he projects and exudes a sense of confidence and serenity even during current global economic meltdown and the military madness going on all over the world. With the transiting Sun/Jupiter conjunct his natal Jupiter in Aquarius, all I can say is holy divine protection batman!

The degree for the New Moon from Zodiacal Symbology reads: A naked foot bleeding, above a burning lamp. A conquering hero with light to lift the darkness and pain. The Sabian Symbol for seven degrees of Aquarius reads: A child is seen being born out of an egg. Keynote: the emergence of the global man for the new age. Mercury retrograde since January 11th goes direct (forward) on February 2nd in Capricorn clears the decks and opens the channels for strategic planning and thinking. Mars the warrior planet enters Aquarius on February 4th; let the crusade begin towards the spirit of global and collective cooperation. Let us be the change we want the world to become. (Ghandi)

On February 5th the second opposition between Saturn / Uranus occurs at 21 degrees of Virgo/ Pisces. Microsoft (March 13, 1986) has the Sun at 22 degrees of Pisces and square Mars/Uranus at 22 degrees of Sagittarius. This will set off a powerful T-square with the natal pattern when Microsoft will announce its earnings sometime this month? The Saturn/Uranus opposition will continue to reflect the old way of doing business (government) is no longer viable and requires a leap into the future.

In August of 2006 progressed Mars in the horoscope for the USA went retrograde for the first time in our nation’s history. Michael O’Reilly (Neptune café) points out that while Mars becomes weaker, Venus (Aries) has become stronger suggesting Men (masculine energy) are getting weaker and women are gaining more power and authority. Progressed Mars in Aries can certainly reflect the Amazon (female warrior) archetype. Venus in Aries is about becoming fiercely feminine to learn how to initiate and take action, but also to be feminine and loving. Progressed Venus is approaching a conjunction to Chiron in the USA natal chart next year January 2010. The image serves as a powerful metaphor if healing is going to take place it has to be done through the feminine goddess energy. I don’t mean feminine in the pagan sense, but the feminine energy one feels in nature because of its generosity. Peace to you!

House-There will be order in the nation-If there is order in the

Nation-There will be peace in the world.”
